NHS care and private treatments
Every visit starts with a proper assessment of your teeth, gums and mouth, and a plan built around your long-term oral health. You can then choose NHS treatment, private options, or a mix.
On the NHS Banded charges
- Check-upsA three-part examination looking for decay and broken teeth, checking your gums for disease, and screening the soft tissues of your mouth for oral cancer.
- Fillings and crownsDamaged or decayed areas removed and the tooth rebuilt to its natural shape. Heavily broken teeth may need a crown.
- Gum disease careGums checked at every exam. Caught early, gum disease is easier to manage, and even advanced cases can be held in check with regular care.
- Infections and abscessesA swelling or a "gum boil" needs seeing quickly. Call us as soon as you notice one.
- DenturesRemovable replacements for missing teeth, so chewing pressure is spread evenly and the teeth you have left are protected.

How NHS charges work
You pay one charge per course of treatment, at the highest band you need, however many visits it takes. Each band includes everything in the band before it.
National NHS England charges from 1 April 2026. They change each April. Some patients are entitled to free treatment, including under-18s and pregnant women; check if you qualify on nhs.uk. Dental implants aren't available on the NHS.
Before you visit
A few things that help us keep appointments available for everyone.
Keep your visits regular
Coming in every 6 to 12 months keeps you on our books for NHS appointments. There's no permanent NHS registration: you're a patient for your current course of treatment.
Missed appointments
We can't send reminders, so please note your appointment dates. Missing two appointments means we may no longer be able to see you.
Getting seen sooner
We're a busy practice and can only offer the next free slot, but we can add you to our cancellation list.
Respect for our team
We don't tolerate abusive behaviour towards staff and may stop seeing patients who are abusive.
Safeguarding
If we're concerned about the safety of a child or vulnerable adult, we may share that concern with social services.
In pain when we're closed?
We're closed at weekends. For urgent dental care out of hours, call NHS 111 or use 111.nhs.uk. [CONFIRM: current site lists 01634 890300 — check it is still the right out-of-hours number]
Children's dentistry
Bring your child in from the day their first tooth appears. Regular, relaxed visits make the dentist a familiar place, so later appointments feel easy.
We suggest check-ups every six months. Your dentist may also recommend fluoride varnish or fissure sealants to help prevent decay.
[OPTIONAL: bring over the brushing video and printable activity sheets from the current Kids Zone page]
Who you'll see
